HealthCare Outreach could not operate without the volunteers and the support of AusAid through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Rotary, and other community service organisations, medical companies and other individual civic-minded sponsors.

Volunteer Team Members
Volunteer doctors, nurses and allied health professionals contribute their own time and finances to take part in the project. In many cases, accommodation and food is supplied by the host country, and sometimes from donated funds.
Team members include specialised medical personnel according to the individual project and host country resources. Members can include surgeons, cardiologists, plastic surgeons, anaesthetists and intensivists, perfusionists, physiotherapists, intensive care, operating theatre and ward nurses and technicians, pathology and radiographers, and engineering personnel. The number of team members varies according to the needs of the project, and can range from fifteen to forty people for a two to three week surgical visit.
We are constantly amazed by the number of people who wish to volunteer with our teams, and currently have more demand than we have places available. If you are interested in registering your details on our database, please contact us.
Equipment
The equipment needed is donated or loaned by medical suppliers, or second-hand equipment is utilised. If available, donated funds may also be used to purchase equipment. If you are able to assist with equipment purchases or supply, please contact us.
Transport
Transport assistance is provided by airlines and shipping companies who offer reduced rates and substantial free allowances. We are very grateful for the support of these companies, who often freight in excess of 2 tonnes of equipment at no cost.
